I stopped by Tempe Camera this past week to pick up some gear since we're shooting JJ's next music video tomorrow. While there, I purchased a bracket to mount my of camera flash (580EX Speedlight - mine's an older model) and an umbrella to a light stand (which I already own).
Ever since I was in college I've wanted gear to help shoot with diffused light, but I have the savings to spend over $1,500 for the lights/stands/diffusers that I wanted. Since I already had the Speedlight and a way to trigger it, the total cost of this purchase came to about $50 ($25 for the umbrella and $25 for the mounting bracket). Needless to say, I'm kicking myself for not picking this gear up sooner.
Here are a few test photos that I shot last night. Nothing earth shattering, but an easy one-light setup in the living room. JJ was spending some quality time with her iPhone, and wasn't expecting a photo-shoot, but she was a good sport.
I have to stay away fro them camera store.....That is what John told me at least. Have fun!
